- Liturgy of the Hours
- Christian Prayer: Liturgy of the Hours - You can start with Shorter Christian Prayer but I highly suggest spending a little bit more and getting the 1 Volume Christian Prayer. Someday you might upgrade to the 4 Volume Set, but many are very happy their whole life with the single-volume version.
OR, as long as you are not bound by orders, etc, there are other official translations/versions
- The Little Oratory - Not only is this a great book for inspiration to grow your prayer corner/chapel/"Little Oratory", it is also a great resource for those of us that are further along. David Clayton and Leila Lawler don't just show you how to set up a prayer corner, etc. but also how to use it, why you should use it, and the historical reasons for having one.
- Ordo - I suggest every family have a copy of their local Ordo. It gives you the Order of Prayer in the Liturgy of the Hours and Celebration of the Eucharist. It contains the Necrology for your Diocese, Daily Readings, Data on Saints' Lives, Homily Suggestions. Liturgical Color for the Day. Available in many formats:
- Parish Book of Chant
- Glossary of Ecclesiastical Ornament and Costume
- Candles in the Roman Rite
- The Liturgical Altar
- Manual of Indulgences
- The Church Visible: The Ceremonial Life and Protocol of the Roman Catholic Church
- The 35 Doctors of the Church: Revised Edition
- Drinking with the Saints
- Catholic Dictionary
- Instructiones fabricate et supellectilis - English translation of St. Charles Borromeo’s text on a proper construction, placement, etc of Ecclesial items, following the Council of Trent.
